About Casandra

Casandra Martin loved old quilts, new books, and her amazing God. Writing  from her home in Spring, Texas, she loved meeting God in the pages of His Word and sharing His heart with the women God loves.

Casandra graduated from Harding University, where she met and married her husband, Ken. After college, Casandra taught at Northland Christian School where she was named Teacher of the Year. After several years of teaching high school, God gave Casandra her greatest teaching assignment – her children, Emily, Ryan, and Jonathan.

After becoming a stay-at-home mom, God opened the door for Casandra to use her teaching skills to teach women about God’s Word and His love for them. She loved teaching the Women Opening the Word Bible Study in her home congregation as well as sharing her inspiring and infectious enthusiasm for Jesus at Ladies Days, retreats, and Bible lectureships around the country.

Casandra was the best-selling author of the Women Opening the Word  Bible study series and a new daily devotional book entitled The Jesus Resolution. She wrote fourteen Bible studies for women including Paul: By the Grace of God, and Echoing His Heartbeat: The Life of David. Other studies in the series include, God, Pass By Me, a study of the names of God, The Shadow of the Cross, A Light in the Darkness: Elijah and Elisha, The Fragrance of Faith, Our Father in Heaven…Teach Us to Pray and That You May Believe, a journey through the Gospel of John. The ABCs of a Godly Heart, a walk with God through the Psalms,  Set Free, a journey through the Exodus, and Immeasurably More, a study of Ephesians, are the newest studies in the series. She also shared her glimpses of God in the blog she wrote for her website – casandramartin.com – where you can also get more information about her books.

Casandra was blessed to worship and serve with God’s people at the Spring Creek Church of Christ in Tomball, Texas.

As a fairly new Christian, I highly recommend Cassandra’s books. Her form of bible study, throuh her books, requires reading God’s word, as well as writing it. This gave me an easier way to study God’s word. WOW!

Casandra – Thank you for letting God use you in such a significant way to bless the lives of those of us at our women’s retreat in Pigeon Forge, TN, on March 19-20. Your words encouraged and challenged us, and your walk through scriptures with us taught us how to focus on Jesus. Tomorrow our Tues. morning Bible study will be diving back into the precious book of John with your book as an outline and a guide – our study is rich and extremely rewarding. May God bless you and your family always. – Lynne Bender

Casandra – I just finshed the new Echoing His Heartbeat book and absolutely LOVED the changes you had made. There were so many wonderful lessons throughout the book that applied to me right now! But the very best part of the book was the very end in Day 4 of the last chapter – showing us how to “echo His heartbeat” – WOW! (no pun intended!!) – you know how to bring His Word right into our hearts!! Thank you for blessing my life with your wonderful writing. Growing in His Word b/c of your sweet example – Krista Cook

Having just read your “Drab” I was interested to learn where you live. Here in Manitoba, Canada, I am finding the end of winter is “Drab” and plan to share your article with our ladies when we meet tomorrow morning! Thank you!

Casandra, Our Ladies’ class in Colorado Springs has just finished your study of Ephesians, “Immeasurably More”. We were all so blessed, as women led the different chapters. At our final gathering today, Lynn led us in a devotional with verses from Ephesians and songs with the same theme. My family was involved with your wedding at Richfield years ago. The little flower girl in your wedding is now a Spanish teacher and she and her husband are involving their three children in God’s Way. What a blessing your studies are to many. Thank you.

Cassandra, just wanted to tell you that I just now learned that you had been sick. You will be in my prayers continually as you heal from whatever thorn has plagued you. I have studied many of your Women Opening God’s Word in our Wednesday night ladies Bible class. You are a great encouragement to all of us given an opportunity to study Gord’s Word daily. Thank you for your sharing your wisdom and insight through these books. I am a member of The Highway church of Christ in Benton, AR where I live.

Pamela, what a small world! A number of members from our congregation just came from meeting with members of the church in Benton on the occasion of the 40th Anniversary our mutual involvement in the French African Bible Education institute in Benin. I join you in hopes that the “fervent prayers of righteous men accomplish much” toward the healing of Cassandra and the spreading of His word

I just heard that you are very ill. I am so sorry to hear that news. I am from the Snellville Church Of Christ. We have had you speak at our ladies retreat several times. You are my favorite speaker. I have used many of your books in our ladies class.
I just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers for a complete recovery.
You are certainly a servant of God and I know He will bless you. There are many people praying for your return to good health.
May God answer our prayers. I pray in Jesus name and that God’s will be done.

In Christian love,
BARBARA BRAMLETT

Cassandra, I live in nearby Pearland, TX, but it took a friend from Nashville, TN (Carole Wood) to introduce you to me as she asked that I pray for your healing from a serious health issue. We prayed for you in our Ladies” Bible Class this morning where we discussed a future Ladies Day project. I pray you’ll get well and consider speaking and teaching here in the spring.
Love from a Sister-in-Christ,

To the Martin family, we at the Thyatira Church of Christ, Senatobia, MS just learned of Casandra’s passing. We have studied many of her books, and are beginning the study from John, “That you might believe.” We are so sorry, we will miss her greatly and even though it has been more than a year since her passing, I know that your heart breaks over and over as you suffer her absence. She would be the first to remind us that she is well and alive because the Book of John tells us that Christians will never die. I know that she rejoiced in the HOPE of that better place, and now she reaps her rewards for being a faithful servant. She has blessed my live in ways that words cannot describe. I was privileged to hear Cassandra at two of our ladies retreat. She was amazing teacher of God’s word. I was devastated when she passed away. I still think of her often because of her love for the Lord. We are in the process of studying Shadow of the Cross in our ladies Bible class. We use many of her books. She was definitely a servant for the Lord. I thank God for her life and the many lives she touched.

My ladies Bible study group is currently studying from your book “Echoing the Heartbeat of David,” since February 2017. This is an awesome book to study from and we absolutely love it. We have been blessed to have three more ladies join our group however, We are no longer able to locate this book for them. It is so amazing that I think all women should have their own personal copy to keep and refer back to. I would love to know if there’s anyway that we may be able to obtain a couple more of this edition. We are only 2/3 way through the book and already anticipating the next one that we will select! I have done 7 of Cassandras studies and was privileged to hear her speak at Yellowstone Bible Camp several years ago. I have learned so much through her lessons and appreciate her insight so much. The world lost a treasure but she has attained her reward.
